Players like Andreas Pereira and Fred should be handed starts versus Reading but the United boss has more or less confirmed that midfielder Paul Pogba will sit out this game.

Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku scored first-half goals as Manchester United's winning streak continued with a 2-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup.

"I'm sure they've got their targets", Solskjaer said. "I made it hard for the players to be fair on them, because it's a team that's never played together".

"We never had a kick the first five minutes, they just kept possession and we weren't cohesive enough in the pressing".

'And the way how he wants us to play really benefits me because he wants me to be in a position where I want to be, so he understands what type of striker you are and he just plays to your strengths. The pleasing thing is we're through and it's another clean sheet.

"You can't ask for more than going through but the way we played wasn't the best", Solskjaer told the BBC. The ball is worked to Sanchez and he slips in Lukaku, who rounds the goalkeeper and taps home.

"That's two in two he's made, so that's also a positive", said Solskjaer, referring to Sanchez's assist in the 2-0 league win at Newcastle on Wednesday.

At Old Trafford the system was in use as it prepares for its introduction into the Premier League next season and VAR was called into question 20 minutes into the match. "I know they are quality players".

"We see the talent he's got but if he can add that last little bit, he's going to be worth £200m (R3.5 billion) in a couple of years".

"He had one touch too many, could have finished when he was driving through the box, so he'll be fine".

United will travel to Dubai for warm-weather training after Saturday's game, and Solskjaer warned it will not be a holiday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised the structure behind the scenes at Manchester United as his side consider the possibility of dipping into the transfer market this month.

It will be fair to say that the Red Devils have not faced any of the top teams as yet but Solskjaer has emulated Busby to win the first four games in charge of the club and that is special.
