Jurgen Klopp's side do have a four days break in between their trip to the Midlands and their next Premier League game against Crystal Palace, which will be held at Anfield.

The extent of Dejan Lovren's injury has not been confirmed yet but a bare-boned Liverpool now move onto the Premier League where they will take on Brighton on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Monday's FA Cup clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers will come to soon for injured duo Joe Gomez and Joël Matip, and has outlined his intentions to rotate his side for the match. We are not here to make a new world-record for the youngest team.

"There are times when you lose games".

"We are going to play the next game like a final, knowing we will go through in the second most important competition in England, but I don't think about it too much".

The draw guarantees lower league opposition for Wolves following their excellent 2-1 win over Liverpool.

Despite dominating the early stages, City were just 1.12cm away from suffering a potentially game-changing self-inflicted wound as John Stones atoned for his mistake in dramatic fashion.

The City boss said: "I would like to have two months' holiday right now, definitely - this month is really tough, but it is what it is". Everything is fine. I am completely happy with Naby.

"We want to win everything but you can not win it in the first game". Pretty much all the players here today had a few problems.

However, Klopp confirmed he will be making changes for Monday's trip to Molineux, with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet set to start.

When asked, at a pre-match media briefing at Melwood, if there was a reson Keita had missed the last three games, Klopp said: "No, that's how it sometimes is".

If Klopp does make lots of changes that still means his defence could feature Joe Gomez and Alberto Moreno, his midfield at least two of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Naby Keita or Fabinho, and an attack with Daniel Sturridge and Zherdan Shaqiri.

The tie will be played at the Etihad Stadium over the weekend commencing 26 January and ticket details will be released in due course.

"He's a fantastic professional". But everybody saw it how brilliant he played in the first part [of the season].
