Google's virtual assistant will tie-up with Google Maps for better navigation.

'With just your voice, you'll be able to share your ETA with friends and family, reply to text messages, play music and podcasts, search for places along your route, add a new stop and auto-punctuate your message, ' Google said in a statement. Meanwhile, applications such as Google Maps would also include Assistant functionality, which will make driving safer. Passengers will also be able to retrieve their boarding pass with the Assistant on an Android or iOS phone.

Apart from airline check-ins, Google Assistant can help users to book a room for a specified hotel, city, and dates.

It rolled out new integrations with Google Maps, where users can operate the app hands-free with just their voice.

Samsung has shown off its latest robots at this years CES, the Samsung Bots and they are powered by Samsung's AI platform and come with Bixby built in.

It didn't say when, but as Google's announcement focused on the brand's 2019 activity, we know it'll be sometime this year.

Manuel Bronstein, Google's vice president of Google Assistant, has told The Verge in a recent interview that by the end of January, the Google Assistant is expected to be on 1 billion devices across the globe, a number up from 500 million only 7 months back. The Assistant will provide real-time spoken translations, and written ones as well on smart displays. This means you can ask the assistant to show restaurants nearby, set up and dismiss alarms, schedule reminders and timers without unlocking your phone. And Todoist, for help keeping track of itineraries with notes and lists in the Google Assistant.

In announcing this milestone, Google highlighted the myriad capabilities added to Assistant throughout 2018. The 2019 TVs will gain support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice commands but only in limited form.
