Monaco in advanced talks to sign Michy Batshuayi

Michy Batshuayi has had his loan to Valencia cut short, confirmed the La Liga club's general director Mateu Alemany.

"We are negotiating with several clubs an exit for Batshuayi", he told a news conference on Thursday.

"The player knows. For the good of the player and the club, we are looking for a solution".

After mainly being used off the bench after arriving at Chelsea from Marseille in 2016, Batshuayi was sent on loan to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.

Belgium striker Batshuayi has scored a single goal in 15 top-flight appearances for Valencia, who are 12th in the table having qualified for the Champions League last term. We hope that, for his sake, this can be resolved as soon as possible.

£14m in the current market is good value and Everton have needed a top striker through the door at Goodison Park since Batshuayi's global team-mate Romelu Lukaku left for Manchester United in summer 2017. "He is leaving and it's now a matter of negotiation".

The Chelsea forward was a disappointment in Spain, scoring only twice in 23 matches for the club.

Michy Batshuayi's time at Valencia is coming to an end.

He came in for criticism from Valencia boss Marcelino after Batshuayi suffered a nightmare 45 minutes when his side were knocked out of the Copa del Rey 2-1 by Sporting Gijon on Tuesday.

"I think we have to get in some strikers".

But Chelsea should scrap any plans to offload the Belgium worldwide and give him an unexcited opportunity with them for the second half of the season.
